TATTOO AFTERCARE

Leave the plastic On: Keep the plastic on for at least 2-4 hours after getting your tattoo. This helps protect the fresh tattoo from bacteria and reduces the risk of infection.

Wash Your Hands: Before touching your tattoo, always wash your hands thoroughly to prevent contamination.

Gently Clean Your Tattoo: After removing the bandage, wash your tattoo gently with lukewarm water and mild, fragrance-free soap. Use your fingers to clean the area, and avoid using a washcloth or sponge.

Pat Dry: Gently pat your tattoo dry with a clean paper towel or let it air dry. Do not rub the tattoo as this can irritate the skin.

Apply a Thin Layer of Ointment: Once the tattoo is dry, apply a thin layer of a recommended tattoo aftercare ointment (such as Aquaphor or a fragrance-free moisturizer). Avoid using products with alcohol or fragrances, as these can irritate the tattoo.

Avoid Tight Clothing: Wear loose-fitting clothing over your tattoo to avoid rubbing and irritation. This helps the tattoo heal properly and reduces the risk of infection.

Stay Out of the Sun: Protect your tattoo from direct sunlight. UV rays can fade and damage a fresh tattoo. Once your tattoo is fully healed, always apply sunscreen to protect it.

Avoid Submerging in Water: For the first 2-3 weeks, avoid submerging your tattoo in water. This means no swimming, hot tubs, or long baths. Showers are fine, but keep the tattoo out of direct water spray.

Do Not Pick or Scratch: As your tattoo heals, it will scab and may become itchy. Avoid picking, scratching, or peeling the scabs, as this can cause scarring and affect the tattoo's appearance.

Stay Hydrated and Eat Well: Proper hydration and nutrition can aid in the healing process. Drink plenty of water and eat a balanced diet to support your body's ability to heal.

Follow Up with Your Artist: If you have any concerns or questions about your tattoo's healing process, don't hesitate to contact your tattoo artist for advice and guidance.

Be Patient: Healing takes time. Your tattoo may take 2-4 weeks to fully heal. Follow these aftercare tips diligently to ensure the best possible outcome for your new tattoo.
